In conjunction with Bill McKibben’s presentation at Fighting Bobfest on Saturday September 15th, 350 Madison is hosting a 350.org Workshop!  This activist training will be on the 16th, and it is open to anyone wanting to turn the tide on climate change.

Place: Arboretum Cohousing, 1137 Erin St. in Madison

Time: Sunday Sept. 16th, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Cost: Free, including lunch and snacks

Registration/questions: email us at 350.madison.wi@gmail.com.  Please include your name, phone number, and indicate whether you are a student and whether you are vegetarian.

Joshua Kahn Russell will be conducting the training. He’s an experienced organizer who has coordinated numerous civil disobedience actions, including the Tar Sands Action against the Keystone XL pipeline last year. He has also written several books, including Organizing Cools the Planet: Tools and Reflections to Navigate the Climate Crisis.

The issue of climate change has taken off again this summer. This is our time to press forward strongly, and training on the 16th will help us do that. It will be a mix of skill development, team building and strategic planning. Both experienced activists and brand new people will come together for this–so that means YOU are the right person to be there.
