Citizens Climate Lobby and 350.org are two organizations fighting for a livable world, but from different approaches.  By supporting each others’ work, the movement becomes stronger.

So, CCL Madison and 350 Madison are getting together to learn the details behind CCL’s carbon tax legislation, as well as the social movement context of 350.org’s campaigns.

In addition, Teresa Arrate, of the student group Climate Action 350 UW, will update us on the PowerShift conference, the UW divestment campaign, as well as the new Climate Knowledge Project.  We will then roll out our next phase of the divestment campaign — focusing on the power of alumni and the pressure we can put on our alma maters.  Check out gofossilfree.org/alumni for a preview.

This is a great opportunity to continue strengthening the Madison climate movement — bring a friend who may be interested in learning more about how they can stand up for their future!
